Owner Profile: Gemeng International Zhaoguang Power Plant, namely Shanxi Zhaoguang Power Co., Ltd., is located in Huozhou City, Linfen area, Shanxi Province, situated at the hub of the power grid and load center. It is jointly established by Gemeng International Energy Co., Ltd. (holding company) and Beijing Energy Investment (Group) Co., Ltd. (participating company), a large-scale modern environmentally friendly power generation enterprise with a total investment of 7.1 billion yuan. The power plant is constructed in two phases. Phase I, equipped with 2×300MW subcritical direct air-cooled units, was officially put into operation in September 2005; Phase II, using 2×600MW supercritical double-cylinder double-exhaust direct air-cooled units, was put into operation in September 2009. Currently, the plant has a total installed capacity of 1800MW. Located adjacent to the Fenhe River, with open ground and convenient transportation, and situated in the heart of the "Hoxi Coalfield," it boasts abundant coal resources and superior conditions for building a large-scale pit-mouth power plant. After the power plant was put into operation, it greatly alleviated the power shortage in southern Shanxi, especially in the Linfen area, and played a key supporting role in the stable operation of the 500KV grid in southern Shanxi. In addition, Zhaoguang Power Co., Ltd. actively practices the concept of energy conservation and environmental protection, adopting direct air cooling and closed-loop water-saving projects, saving 80% of water compared to traditional water cooling methods; using a multi-layer wastewater treatment system to achieve zero wastewater discharge; using limestone wet desulfurization with a desulfurization efficiency of more than 95%; and equipped with a high-efficiency electrostatic precipitator with a dust removal efficiency of more than 99.6%. While promoting regional economic development, it also takes into account ecological environmental protection.
