Owner Profile: The National Energy Investment Guizhou Jinyuan Zhijin Power Plant is one of Guizhou Province's first batch of "integrated wind, solar, thermal, and storage" and "integrated source, grid, load, and storage" high-efficiency clean energy projects. It is also Guizhou's first deeply cooperative coal-fired power plant project. It is invested and constructed by Guizhou Zhijin Pingyuan Clean Energy Co., Ltd., jointly funded by National Energy Investment Group Guizhou Jinyuan Co., Ltd. and Guizhou Panjiang Power Generation Co., Ltd., with a planned total investment of 5.212 billion yuan. The project uses the world's first 660-megawatt ultra-supercritical "W" flame boiler and introduces a number of new technologies and processes. It innovatively uses the HPAX-EX burner and OFA nozzle system, combined with coalbed methane ignition and auxiliary combustion technology. Compared with traditional oil-fired units, under the same material consumption, carbon dioxide emissions are reduced by 53%, and emissions of nitrogen oxides, sulfides, and other pollutants are reduced by more than 90%. It also saves more than 6 million yuan in coal costs annually. The power plant is designed for ultra-low emissions, with a planned installed capacity of 2070 megawatts and a planned annual power generation of approximately 6 billion kilowatt-hours, with an output value of approximately 2.2 billion yuan. It will also be equipped with a planned capacity of 750 megawatts of new energy. Since the full-scale start of construction in August 2023, the project has been steadily progressing. In April 2025, the boiler of unit 1 was successfully ignited and blown, officially entering the countdown phase of the entire set of startup. It is expected that unit 1 will be put into operation in the first half of 2025, and unit 2 will be delayed by two months. After the commissioning of both units, the power generation in 2025 will reach 2.8 billion kilowatt-hours, with an output value of approximately 1 billion yuan. After the project is completed and put into operation, it will effectively promote the safe, efficient, clean, and low-carbon development of Guizhou's energy industry and build a new energy system where coal-fired power generation and clean energy complement each other.
