Owner Profile: Jiangsu Guoxin Energy Sheyanggang Power Plant is located about 24 kilometers east of Sheyang County, Yancheng City, at the estuary of Sheyang River. It is the first coal-fired power plant along the Jiangsu coast, bordering the Yellow Sea to the east, the coastal expressway to the west, the Sheyang River to the south, and Provincial Highway 329 to the north. With convenient transportation, abundant freshwater resources, and a wide transmission corridor, it serves as a crucial power support point for the eastern Jiangsu coastal power grid. Operated by Jiangsu Sheyanggang Power Generation Co., Ltd., it is a holding power plant of Jiangsu Guoxin Group. Its 2×1 million kW coal-fired power generation unit expansion project, as the only coal-fired power project approved during Jiangsu Province's 13th Five-Year Plan period, has a total investment of approximately 9 billion yuan and is a major project in 2023. This project adopts advanced domestic 1000MW ultra-supercritical secondary reheating technology, boasts high energy utilization efficiency, and is equipped with highly efficient desulfurization, denitrification, and dust removal facilities to achieve ultra-low near-zero emissions of pollutants. It also innovatively utilizes flue gas waste heat cascade utilization and calcium carbonate crystallization granulation softening of circulating water bypass, achieving resource recycling. On September 26, 2023, Unit 1 was put into operation, and on December 24 of the same year, Unit 2 passed the 168-hour full-load trial run and was officially put into commercial operation. With both units fully completed and put into operation within the year, the total installed capacity of Sheyanggang Power Plant has increased to 3.32 million kW, with an annual power generation capacity of 17 billion kWh. It has become an important power support point for the central and northern Jiangsu coastal power grid and new energy consumption, playing a significant role in optimizing the province's energy structure layout, enhancing the regional power grid's peak regulation capacity, supporting Jiangsu's energy supply, and promoting high-quality local economic development.
