Owner Profile: Qinghai Provincial Investment Bridgehead Power Plant is located in Datong Hui and Tu Autonomous County, Xining City, 32.5 kilometers away from Xining, the provincial capital. Its predecessor was the Qinghai Bridgehead Power Plant established in 1956. In February 2017, Qinghai Bridgehead Power Co., Ltd. was registered and established, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Qinghai Provincial Investment Group Co., Ltd. The plant's original 5×125,000 kW units have been dismantled. Currently, it is adopting a "larger-scale replacement" model, building three 660MW ultra-supercritical, once-through reheat, indirect air-cooled generating units on the original site. It is planned to be fully operational in 2026, with an annual power generation capacity of 9 billion kWh. This project is the nation's first coal-fired power generation unit with a high proportion, high altitude, and high-alkali coal. It is also the largest thermal power source in the Qinghai power grid's 750kV system. The project construction utilizes multiple new technologies, such as deep processing and utilization of recycled water and the application of domestically produced equipment, achieving "oil-free, hydrogen-free, and ammonia-free" operation, zero wastewater discharge, and flue gas pollutant emission concentrations below the national ultra-low emission standards. It aims to create a model project of a "highland pearl, green and environmentally friendly, smart power plant," which is of great significance to optimizing Qinghai's power structure and promoting new energy development.
