The development history of Xinyu Steel can be traced back to 1958. After more than 60 years of hard work, it has now built a complete industrial system integrating ore mining and selection, iron and steel smelting, steel rolling and extended processing. Products cover more than 800 varieties and more than 3,000 specifications of ordinary steel, special steel, metal products, steel structures, and chemical products. It has established a number of innovation platforms, including the National Enterprise Technology Center, the National Accreditation Laboratory, the Academician Workstation, the Postdoctoral Workstation, and the Jiangxi Provincial Marine Steel Engineering Technology Research Center. It has successfully developed high-end products such as marine engineering steel, IF steel, and hydrogen-resistant steel, which are widely used in national key projects such as petroleum and petrochemicals, large bridges, and military ships, and are exported to more than 20 countries and regions. In 2023, Xinyu Steel produced 11.26 million tons of steel, achieving an operating income of 76.5 billion yuan and a profit of 706 million yuan. Its economic benefits rank among the top in the industry. It ranked 248th in the 2023 China Top 500 Enterprises and 122nd in the China Top 500 Manufacturing Enterprises. In 2022, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council approved its merger with Baowu, and the shareholder business registration change was completed in December of the same year. Baowu became the controlling shareholder, and Xinyu Steel has since become a first-level subsidiary of Baowu, striding towards even greater goals.
