Owner Profile: The Dagang Power Plant of State Power Investment Corporation, located on the coast of the Bohai Sea in southeastern Tianjin, is a key power generation enterprise under the State Power Investment Corporation. It covers an area of 52.86 hectares, with a total installed capacity of 1314 MW. It has four 328.5MW generating units imported from Italy. As one of the main peak-shaving power plants in the North China Power Grid, it plays a key role in regional power supply. The first phase of the power plant was started in December 1974, initially with two oil-fired units. Unit 1 was connected to the grid in October 1978, and Unit 2 was put into operation the following April. Later, from 2001 to 2005, it underwent coal-fired conversion. The second phase, a key project of the country's Seventh Five-Year Plan, started construction in 1988, and two coal-fired units were officially put into operation in 1991-1992. During its development, Dagang Power Plant has achieved remarkable results in environmental protection and comprehensive resource utilization. It introduced two multi-stage flash seawater desalination units from an American environmental company, producing 6,000 tons of fresh water per day. It is one of the enterprises with a high level of comprehensive seawater utilization in China. It also established a seawater desalination plant for civilian water production and developed a series of drinking water products. At the same time, it vigorously promotes the comprehensive utilization of fly ash, achieving zero emissions, and installing desulfurization devices for the units to reduce sulfur dioxide emissions. In 2024, the power plant made breakthroughs in safety production, environmental protection, and operation and management, achieving a power generation of 6.204 billion kWh, operating hours exceeding the regional average by 194 hours, and a comprehensive electricity price exceeding the benchmark price by 21.38%. It successfully turned losses into profits, achieving a profit of 66.66 million yuan, and also won the honor of advanced unit in the key performance appraisal of Tianjin Company. Currently, it is actively deploying transformation, with the Banqiao photovoltaic power station already connected to the grid, and several new energy projects are steadily progressing. The 2×660MW shutdown and replacement project is also under construction. In the future, it will strive towards the goal of becoming a low-carbon, waste-free, clean, comprehensive energy demonstration base.
