Project introduction

Scale: 2×660MW

Voltage Level: 550kV

Owner Profile: Hengang Dingzhou Power Generation Co., Ltd., registered in August 2000, with shareholders including China Shenhua Energy Co., Ltd., Hebei Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd., and China Datang Group Co., Ltd. The power plant is located along the Shuo Huang Railway, a typical roadside power plant and one of the largest power plants in Hebei's southern power grid, with a total installed capacity of 2520MW and 4 units of 600MW thermal power units. Among them, two 600MW domestically introduced subcritical thermal power units were put into operation in 2004, setting a record for the “smallest land occupation and lowest cost” among similar units in China; two 660MW supercritical direct air-cooled units were put into operation in 2009, winning the China Construction Engineering Luban Award. In its development process, Dingzhou Power Plant has achieved fruitful results, accumulating 8 national reliability benchmarking evaluation winning units (gold medal units) and 24 national thermal power unit energy efficiency benchmarking awards (third-class and above); in 2015, it was rated as a “National Safety Culture Construction Demonstration Enterprise” and passed the re-examination in 2022. In terms of clean development, since September 2014, it has implemented comprehensive upgrading and transformation of green power generation, and achieved “ultra-low emissions” throughout the plant in April 2016; since 2014, it has successively supplied heating to Dingzhou city area and Quyang county, with a heating area of 22 million square meters in 2022; in 2021, the on-site photovoltaic project was put into operation, achieving a “zero breakthrough” in new energy. In November 2024, its unmanned coal-fired power generation intelligent control system successfully passed the 168-hour trial operation, realizing the first domestic fully autonomous control and decision-making of coal-fired units, greatly improving operational efficiency and intelligence level. In addition, in September 2022, its Phase III 2×660MW unit expansion project was approved by the Provincial Development and Reform Commission. After the completion of the project, the total installed capacity of the plant will reach 3.84 million kilowatts, with an annual power generation exceeding 20 billion kilowatt-hours, and it will also realize “Dingzhou heating entering Shijiazhuang”, providing heating for surrounding areas and strongly promoting regional energy development.
